You tell ’em Tay! Though she didn’t compose a Tweet of her own, the 25-year-old singer instead let her fans — and fellow musicians — express their gratitude towards her sticking up for other artists that do actually need to get paid for their music to make a living. She favorited quite a few tweets, including a few from The Vamps‘ singer James McVey. Check it out!
Sure, artists who have ‘made it’ and are ‘happy’ may be fine with giving away music for free. But they either don’t remember…

Or never had to fight for a chance in the industry and therefore don’t understand.

15 year old me would have thanked Taylor Swift today for making a stand and speaking out for unsigned artists.

art has value and there is nothing wrong with expecting to receive a return when you put years of work into a record

ALSO can I just say that @taylorswift13 is a brilliant woman who defended the 99% of us who make NO money from streaming

The only positive thing about this feud is that it’s brought her closer to Calvin. In fact, she’s even more in love with him after he went on a heated Twitter rant in response to Zayn’s diss. Calvin pointed out that Taylor is using her star power to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry. Ironically, or not so ironically, Zayn’s former One Direction bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, seemed to take Calvin’s side! So much shade. It’s good to see that Tay is at least shaking this one off though.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you on team Taylor/Calvin or team Zayn/Miley? Tell us below!
